Ride for Fallen Heroes”

Police-Fire-Military

On Saturday June 13th 2009, the combined efforts of the Calumet City Fraternal Order of Police Lodge # 1 and the Calumet City IAFF Local # 621 Professional Firefighters will be hosted its first annual Poker Run Fundraiser “ Ride for Fallen Heroes”.  The purpose of the event was to promote brotherhood among all motorcycle riders, encourage and promote responsible safe cycling, and to raise money for a family of a fallen member of the Police, Fire, or Military on an annual basis.

In order to raise money for this fundraiser, we are contacting local businesses we frequently patronize  and are asking for donations that we can use in our raffles and silent auctions. We would be very grateful if you would be able to donate a gift certificate or any other contribution you may deem necessary to make this event a success.

The Calumet City Fraternal Order of Police Lodge # 1 and the Calumet City Local # 621 Professional Firefighters planning committee would like to extend a hand of gratitude for your time and would like you to know our selection for our fundraisers charitable donation. Unfortunately, every year the selective pool provided us with a staggering amount perspective receivers. In 2009 we choose the family of Ronnie “Doc” Battiato who was killed in the tragic Air Angels helicopter crash last fall. Ronnie was one of four people taken in this tragedy, leaving behind his wife and six wonderful children. Ronnie Battiato was also a member of the South Chicago Heights Fire Department, with a career over 20 years in the fire service.

If you would like to contribute to the Battiato family other than our endevour, a memorial trust fund has been set up through Peotone Bank and Trust, 200 W. Corning Ave., Peotone, IL ,60468. “Ron Battiato Family Fund”
